Injury Free

STRONG RUNNING

Strength and conditioning for runners is as important as the running itself.  Runners who consider strength as much as the running invariably stay injury free, make the greatest progress and are able to stay consistent with their training.

You are not training to become a body builder or look great on the beach, strength work for runners is very specific and trains you to be strong for running.

What Does Strength

& Conditioning Training

INCLUDE?

First thing to know is you don’t have to be a gym goer, it call all be done at home. We focus on…

  • Bodyweight and Weighted Strength Work
  • Core Stability
  • Single Leg Strength (Key for Runners)
  • Mobility and Movement
  • Plyometrics
To build running strength you do NOT need more miles, you need focused strength work that supports the miles you do.

How Are Plans

DELIVERED?

Along with consistency, just as key is your form, which means doing the exercise correctly, meaning posture and timing.

All plans are delivered with in-depth information either via email or What’s App along with a video call to go through each exercise until you are fully happy that you are able to do them correctly. They are updated on a regular basis as you progress

If you are a gym goer, strength plans can be provided for you to do at the gym.

Common Q&A on

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

I have never done this before, will it not be too much with running as well?

We have to make sure any plan fits in with your ability and your lifestyle, so it’s carefully constructed to make sure it’s all very achievable for you, whilst still getting value from it.

I am not a big fan of the gym, can I do this at home with limited equipment?

Yes absolutely.  We are not building muscle with heavy weights, we are focusing on strength to assist running.

I have never done Plyometrics, what is it and how does it help me?

Plyometrics are short but high intensity and explosive exercises to increase power and strength.  Without going into the science of it, it teaches muscles to fire and is incredibly good for runners.

Do you provide S&C plans for runners who are not on your plans?

Yes and quite often, it’s especially popular with casual recreational runners, or runners who attend a running club.

This is the part of training that keeps everything else working, ignore it at your peril!
